Principal's Message

Dear Sparks Families,

It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself, Julia Gavilanes, as the new Principal at Sparks Middle School. My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the past 23 years as a teacher, counselor, director and administrator. In each of my roles, I have sought to ensure the success of each student and the school, by providing the best instructional and extracurricular opportunities and supports possible. Similarly, it is my number one priority at Sparks to ensure that every student receives the most well-rounded education possible.

Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am excited to see your children through your eyes. I cannot wait to share with you the great things they do throughout their days here at Sparks. Moreover, I will be here to work with you should they need any help navigating any aspect of the school day.

All of us at Sparks Middle School are eager and excited to begin what promises to be the best year ever.  This year is going to be amazing as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections.  As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents-are excited to be here!  This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.

At Sparks Middle School we set high standards for our students to ensure they have all the skills necessary to be successful. In order to ensure the students of our school focus on academic success, we hope that you will continue to support the behavior, expectations, and dress for success policy.                                  

The Parent/Student Handbook includes important information regarding our school, district policies, and some important dates to remember. Please read the enclosed material and follow the procedures as outlined, to support the maintenance of a safe and orderly learning environment for all students. Some of the dates may change, so please read notices that are sent through Parent Square. We will also display information on our school marquee and our webpage. In addition, our school promotes perfect attendance and we ask your child to be here every day and on time. Welcome to our school and I look forward to working with you.

Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned with me to your wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. Estimada Familias de la Escuela Primaria Sparks,

Es con gran honor y emoción que me presento, Julia Gavilanes, como la nueva Directora de la Escuela Intermedia Sparks . Mi pasión por la educación y el apoyo al éxito de todos los estudiantes ha sido moldeado durante los últimos 23 años como maestra, consejera, directora y administradora. En cada uno de mis papeles, he tratado de asegurarme del éxito de cada estudiante y la escuela, proporcionando las mejores oportunidades de instrucción y extracurriculares y el apoyo posible. Del mismo modo, es mi primordial prioridad en Sparks para asegurarme que cada estudiante reciba la educación más completa posible.

No sólo estoy emocionado de empezar a trabajar con sus hijos, pero espero con ansias el trabajo que haremos juntos. Como dice el viejo proverbio africano, "se necesita un pueblo para criar a un niño". Estoy emocionada de ver a sus hijos a través de sus ojos. Me dará mucho gusto compartir con ustedes las grandes cosas que sus niños harán durante sus días aquí en Sparks. Además, estaré aquí para trabajar con ustedes si los estudiantes necesitan ayuda para navegar cualquier aspecto del día escolar.

Todos nosotros en la Escuela Intermedia Sparks estamos ansiosos y emocionados de comenzar lo que promete ser el mejor año de la historia. Este año va a ser increíble a medida que continuamos proporcionando experiencias académicas para nuestros estudiantes que son rigurosas, relevantes, y les ayudan a construir relaciones mientras que hacen conexiones del mundo real. Como Directora, es importante para mí que todo el que pase por nuestras puertas -profesores, estudiantes y padres- estén emocionado de estar aquí. Esta actitud nos permite afrontar los retos de la excelencia académica en un ambiente positivo, divertido y enriquecedor.

En la Escuela Intermedia Sparks establecemos altos estándares para nuestros estudiantes para asegurarnos que tengan todas las habilidades necesarias para tener éxito. En orden de asegurar a los estudiantes de nuestra escuela para que se enfoquen en el triunfo académico y esperamos que usted continúe apoyando en el comportamiento, las expectaciones y vestimenta para la póliza del triunfo.

El Manual del Padre / Estudiante incluye información importante con respecto a las políticas de la escuela, del distrito y algunas fechas importantes para recordar. Por favor lean el material adjunto y sigan los procedimientos como se indica, para apoyar el mantenimiento de un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro y ordenado para todos los estudiantes. Algunas de las fechas pueden cambiar, así que lean los avisos que se envían a través de Parent Square. También mostraremos información en la marquesina de nuestra escuela y en nuestra página web. Además, nuestra escuela promueve la asistencia perfecta y le pedimos a su hijo que esté aquí todos los días ya tiempo. Bienvenido a nuestra escuela y espero poder trabajar con usted.

Una vez más, estoy muy agradecida de tener la oportunidad de traer todo lo que he experimentado y aprendido conmigo a su maravillosa comunidad. Estoy ansiosa por conocerlos a usted y a sus hijos.
